CD Review – Colours of Me

Dawn Gilbert has realised a lifelong ambition by going into the studio and recording ‘Colours of Me’.

The 13 track CD is a collection of some of her favourites and songs she performs at her Country Music club appearances. Dawn’s happy to share her excitement and says: “At 70 years old, if I can do it then, so can anyone fulfil their dreams”. How true!

Peggy Lee’s ‘Fever’, Dolly’s ‘Coat of many colours’, Sweet Nothin’ among other well known evergreens have all made the final track list. Dawn gives ‘her all’ to this momentous project and is already planning the next release. And, with a few tricks learned from her first effort, Dawn says: “Things will only get better”.

So, Watch out World!

Dawn’s ‘Colours of Me’ was profiled in the Melbourne Observer Country Crossroads Column 14 Dec 16.
